Flamingo to Monteverde

Costa Rica

Costa Rica, which means "Rich Coast", has many diverse landscapes, flora, and fauna. From rain forests, dry tropical and temperate forests, to Caribbean and Pacific beaches, to marshy lowlands. Costa Rica contains as much as 6% of the world's plant and animal species while occupying only about 0.25% of the world's landmass. We’ll spend time in Rincón de la Vieja National Park, Playa Flamingo, and Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, all of which are located in the northwestern part of the country.

Flamingo

Playa Flamingo is one of Costa Rica’s most popular beaches. With stunning fine white sand, pristine clear blue waters, lagoons, and an abundance of sport activities. The Playa Flamingo area offers a wide variety of outdoor spaces due to the amazing mountain formations reaching into the sea. For decades it has been a vacation favourite for both foreigners and locals!

Monteverde

Due to the acclaimed rain forests and cloud forests in the area, Monteverde has become a major part of the Costa Rican tourist trail. Named after the nearby town of Monte- verde, the Reserve consists of over 10,500 hectares of tropical rainforest. It has an extremely high biodiversity consisting of over 2,500 plant species (including the most orchid species in a single place), 100 species of mammals, 400 bird species, 120 reptilian and amphibian species, and thousands of insect species.
